As a kid in the 90s, I loved velvet…I still do, but the combination of these two yarns, in this color, made me feel particularly nostalgic for some of the fashions and fabrics I remember from my childhood, hence the 90s Nostalgia Velvet Stripe Scarf!
This super-easy pattern is available as a free pdf download below. For this knit project, you’ll need a pair of US11 (8mm) needles, some worsted weight yarn like Wool Ease (less than a skein will do!) and some velvet yarn like Yarn Bee Velvety Smooth…also, if you’ve been following the blog for a while, you might know I have very mixed feelings about velvet yarn in general. Honestly, there are some reasons why it isn’t always ideal, and I talk about those reasons in this post.
That being said, I still like it, and I did have already have it, so I couldn’t resist this combination of almost-matching yarns…
