Mushroom Plush: How to Sew Your Own Fungi Friends/DIY Doll Tutorial

If you’ve ever wanted your very own mushroom friend, you’re in the right place!

Plush mushroom dolls are not only a great way to use leftover scraps from other projects, but also perfect for practicing your handsewing skills (though you can use a machine for most parts of this project, too.) These make great dolls for children–and grownups, for that matter!–or can be used more decoratively. Make a cluster of mushrooms to place under a glass cloche, or attach a ribbon on string and make a hangable ornament.

You can download and print the pattern below for free. If you want a different size or style, experiment with printing it at different sizes. Use a variety of fabrics to create different looks. Embellish the top with embroidery or beads, or leave them plain. There are so many possibilities for different looks with this project!

For full instructions on how to make your own plush mushroom, be sure to watch the video below. If you plan on making your own, be sure to share! I’d love to see your finished project–you can tag me on instagram (or twitter) @moth_and_rust.
