Style and Sustainability at ICT Fashion Tour

Can you believe this year’s Fashion Revolution Week is already behind us…again?

For the last several years, I’ve been meaning to do something special during this very special week, but just never seem to get around to it…and it didn’t happen this year, either. It’s sad, but not too sad, because I really hope to make every week fashion revolution week! (Or, you know, at least most of them…!)

Back in March, I got to take part in ICT Fashion Tour’s first Pop-Up and Runway show of the year. As I had mentioned in my social posts, it was such an incredible experience. This particular show was hosted by The Sewing Center Wichita, but don’t let the smaller venue fool you; there was so much creativity and passion packed into this event. (Plus, The Sewing Center is such a cool shop already!)

And after such a long time of not doing any type of public event, it was all the more exhilarating to chat with other creatives in the community. Every person I spoke with truly inspired me, whether they were an experienced designer, thrifter, or aspiring maker. Connecting like this reminded me of one of the reasons I love creating so much, and of how exciting it is…

I made a bit of recap video, though being distracted in the moment means I didn’t exactly capture everything I would have liked. If you’re a local, I’d highly recommend following ICT Fashion Tour and catching the next show to experience it for yourself, in person…
