Bracelet Handbag Tutorial Video: DIY Mini Purse

What’s not to love about a bracelet handbag? They’re tiny, fit over your wrist, and did I mention they’re tiny? You can create this adorably small (and sparkly) handbag with just a few supplies and some beginning to intermediate sewing skills.

What I also love about this handbag is that it has a zipper closure, so all your treasures will be that much more secure. (Surely I’m not the only one who has a tendency to flail her purse around?!)

For this project you’ll need some vinyl or some other type of heavy-ish material like upholstery or canvas, lighter weight fabric for the lining, an 8″ zipper, jewelry wire, and some beads. I used this template, which you can download for free and print out:

I found this amazing holographic vinyl at Hobby Lobby; it’s sold by the roll as a wide trim in the fabric section. My favorite place to get zippers is actually from an Etsy shop called Zipit Zippers; they are not sponsoring this, I just am in love with their service! They’re super-fast, professional, and always send little extras with each order, including a color chart of their zippers.

If you do create your own, I would truly love to see what you come up with! I personally hope to make more of these in several variations. If you post your finished creation, comment on the video or or tag me on instagram: @moth_and_rust.
